Chelsea Rise Through Premier League Ranks
As they stumble out of the foggy memory of an embarrassing 2022/23 season, Chelsea appear to be finally getting back on their feet and clambering up the English Premier League (EPL) ladder once again.
The Blues reached a last-minute 4-4 draw with treble winners Manchester City last night, Sunday 12 November, in a dramatic match at Stamford Bridge Stadium in London, England.
For Chelsea head coach, Mauricio Pochettino, it was a somewhat emotional affair as his team – who are currently sitting in 10th place on the EPL table – had been considered the underdogs against their opponents, who are currently at the head of the leaderboard.
“I’m very proud,” Pochettino said during the post-match interview. “I’m so happy. The players deserve credit, the performance this evening was amazing, against – for me – the best team in the world.”
“There are things to improve, but it’s the process,” he added cheerfully. “When you want to build a project from zero, this type of thing is really good.”
November has been a particularly good month for the London-based team, as they kicked it off with a 2-0 win over Blackburn Rovers on 1 November, followed by a surprise 4-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur on 6 November.
